about

In Colombia, while some bands look to be faithful to folklore, others brandish the flag of freedom and - as happened with the free jazz movement of the 60s - emancipate from the traditional harmonic bases. In this musical rebellion there is enough room for surprise, and the band Asdrubal knows a lot of surprises. Its first recording “La Revuelta” , was reviewed by Rolling Stone Magazine as a work “that feeds from the different voices of the fragmented modern world”, while Cambio Magazine defined it as "restless and schizophrenic": expressions that other groups would take it badly, but that surely Asdrubal musicians understood them as the compliment they intended to be. His second work entitled "Habichuela" promises to take over and beyond that sound.

Asdrubal is a tribute to the euphoria and spontaneity much needed in a world of strictly planned productions. There, where threatens the tedium of routine, just listen to Asdrubal´s music to shake everything in the air.
